Help your kids learn how to organize things - You can actually consider this as the kids' first project ever. Give them the chance to lead it and just be around to guide them if they need some directions or clearer instructions on how they would arrange things. This could also turn out to be a truly wonderful experience for them where their leadership skills might be tested and developed. It would also allow them to learn about focusing on important tasks and working within a specific timeline.
An easier and perhaps less troublesome, alternative is a magnetic white board, which could be turned into a fun and constantly changing exhibition space. Galvanized metal can be bought at a home center and mounted onto a wall or closet door to create a super-sized magnet board. Because metal edges can be sharp, make sure the panel is set into the recesses of the door or has no edges exposed to little hands. You can use assorted fanciful, decorative magnets to attach artwork, photos and ephemera.
Memo boards are also an attractive way to let your kids express themselves. Let them fill these boards with their favorite pictures and drawings. You can even make your own memo boards with your choice of fabric and ribbon to complement your kid's room design.
